Gehl

Københavnsområdet

Beskrivelse

Gehl is looking for a talented and self-driven developer to join our Research & Development team.

We are a world renowned urban design and research consultancy working hard to create livable cities for people across the globe, with a human-centered and data-driven approach. As we continue to challenge our methods and strategy, our work with digital tools, services and data is becoming more important, and we are now looking to expand our R&D team with a skilled full-stack developer.

We work with many different technologies, but are mainly focused on developing and using web-based tools with languages, frameworks and services such as Ruby on Rails, PostgreSQL, React, Heroku, Azure, Node.js, Google Cloud Platform and Python (Keras, Spacy and Pandas).

Your role as a Fullstack developer at Gehl:

We are looking for a dedicated person to join our Research and Development team and bring knowledge and experience in managing and expanding our stack and software offerings. Our team works across the three Gehl offices (CPH, NYC, SF), creating new tools and methods used both internally and externally.

We would love to have an interdisciplinary full-stack developer with a knowledge of or an eagerness to learn the technologies mentioned above. However, we are not married to this stack, so your knowledge and opinions can also change which technologies we choose to employ.
Your day to day will be working all around our tech stack - from the frontend, through API-layer to backends, and databases in tight collaboration with our software developers, interaction designers and urban specialists.
We are reliant on the usage of cloud technologies with databases and web applications hosted on Heroku and analytics and blob storage running on Azure and GCP. Your knowledge and expertise in best practices in terms of scalability, version control, code bases and database architecture is a key aspect in this continued development.

Benefits of Joining Gehl

As a part of the Research & Development team, you will have a lot of freedom in your work, ranging from the technologies we choose to work with, to flexible working hours.

You will be working from our central Copenhagen office, where we offer a delicious lunch buffet and plenty of opportunity to socialize with colleagues through Friday bars and year-round morning swims. Your work will be flexible and working remotely a part of the time can be arranged.

As a global, networked organization focused on creating cities for people, we promote a culture of learning and innovation, drawing on experts from many cities and cultures. You’ll be exposed to some of the industry’s leading thinkers and doers, with our open, collaborative style allowing for growth at all levels of professional development. You’ll make friends here, in San Francisco and New York and have the chance to join international study tours, learning lunches, local trips and other opportunities to engage in new knowledge creation.

Your education & experience

We welcome applicants with any level of educational background and industry experience, as long as you can show a solid and demonstrable track record in developing, operating and maintaining complex systems.

Responsibilities

Transforming wishes and ideas from our teams into scalable and maintainable digital solutions.

Responsibility in operating and maintaining existing and new infrastructures - e.g. databases, servers, cloud services, APIs, DNS, etc.

Programming and development of our web apps - both backend (Ruby on Rails) and frontend (React.js etc.)

Pulling datasets and creating SQL queries for our data analysts and urban specialists to run analytics on.

Innovating on and challenging our existing infrastructure in terms of sustainability, ethics, cutting edge technologies, and more.

Designing and developing APIs.
